Shared-Decision Making Committee (SDMC)

Each Houston ISD campus has a Shared Decision-Making Committee (SDMC) to support the principal in implementing planning processes and engaging in site-based decision-making, as outlined by HISD Board policy and administrative procedures.

HISD’s model also includes a framework of defined autonomy for high-performing campuses, while upholding high expectations for all schools.

The SDMC is composed of parents, business partners, community members, teachers, and other professional staff, working collaboratively to make decisions that promote student achievement and campus success.
